Is there a sustainable business model in Broadband Wireless?
About the Speakers
Paul Catalano, General Partner, RelevantC
Paul Catalano is Partner at RelevantC Business Group. RelevantC is a management consulting firm focused on communications technology, strategy and business development. Catalano heads the firm's wireless practice, which validates emerging business models and their execution within operators and infrastructure providers.
Catalano previously led product planning and business development for OmniSky, a nationwide wireless ISP backed by AT&T Wireless and 3COM. In this role, he advanced wireless IP services through relationships with wireless infrastructure vendors, content providers and wireless carriers.
Prior to OmniSky, Catalano was a director of marketing at Hewlett-Packard where he managed the company's PC and peripherals businesses. He drove the product definition, pricing and channel strategy of seven new product lines across Western Europe. While at Hewlett-Packard, Catalano transitioned the business to focus on service provider bundles, establishing deals with leading broadband and wireless carriers across Europe.
Previously, Catalano headed engineering assessment programs at Texas Instruments and its overseas joint ventures. Such programs optimized the capital expenditures and cycle time of TI's broadband DSP chip business.
He holds an MBA from the University of Chicago, and a BS Engineering from SMU.
