David Stanton, Chairman, TalkingBlocks Inc
Dave has extensive experience building technology companies. Prior to founding Talking Blocks, Dave was CTO of Xpedior, a 1,700 person, $240 million eBusiness Integrator. As President, COO and Co-Founder of Sage IT Partners, he built a 220 person, $40 million Internet Consulting firm that was sold to Xpedior in 1998. Dave has held management positions at Metropolis Software (a Sales Force Automation firm sold to Clarify in 1995), Andersen Consulting, and the United States Air Force.
Jim Olsen, CEO , Meridian Project Systems
James T. Olsen is chief executive officer of MPS. Olsen manages growth of the company both internally and externally and oversees corporate strategy as MPS launches new products and targets new markets. Previously, Jim served as executive vice president at Objective Systems Integrators (formerly NASDAQ: OSII), a leading operations management software vendor for the telecommunications industry based in Folsom, CA and led the company through the acquisition by Agilent Technologies Inc. As executive vice president, Jim was responsible for global sales, marketing, product management, product development, customer services, and business development and investor relations. At OSI, Olsen developed and executed a 3-year strategic business plan that generated new revenue streams and refocused the company on new markets with new products. Olsen's experience includes stings as Vice President of Marketing at DSC Communications Corp., and as Director, Product Line Management with Nortel Networks overseeing business and product development activities for broadband switching and service solutions.
Peter Kuo, SoundView Technology Group
Peter Kuo is a Vice President and Director of Asian Operations for SoundView Technology Group. Prior to this role, Peter worked for Broadview, where he specialized in the firm's semiconductor and Asian hardware segments. Prior to joining Broadview, Peter held positions at Pacific Venture Group, an Asian-based private equity firm, where he focused on semiconductor investments and Davis Polk & Wardwell, a New York-based law firm, where he practiced corporate law. Peter is a former Fulbright Scholar and received a JD degree from Harvard Law School and a BSFS degree from Georgetown University.
Jeff Karan, Woodside Capital Partners
Jeff is the Managing Partner of Woodside Capital Partners, a boutique investment bank that provides merger and acquisition advice, capital raising, and financial strategy to high growth companies. Jeff's background includes twelve years of prior investment banking experience, six years each at Morgan Stanley and Goldman Sachs. Among his many equity financings, Jeff worked on the initial public offerings for LSI Logic, Stratus Computer, and Reuters plc. At both firms he was responsible for corporate development and participated in the execution of over $5 billion of debt and equity financings, and merger and acquisition transactions.

Immediately prior to founding Woodside Capital Partners, Jeff was the founding CEO of an Internet-based e-commerce company named OneDemocracy. That Company was sold to Voter.com in June 2000 It is the combination of these two experiences, providing blue chip investment banking services for Fortune 500 companies combined with the personal operating and selling experience of a VC-backed start-up, which provides the unique vantage point that Woodside Capital Partners brings to bear on sub-$50 million transactions.

Jeff holds an MBA from Dartmouth's Amos Tuck Business School (Tuck Scholar, 1980), a BA in Economics from Dartmouth College (1979), and an MA in Comparative Philosophy and Religion (1996). He serves on the Advisory Board of the Commonweal Institute, and is a past Board member of the VC-Angel Roundtable of Silicon Valley. Jeff lives with his wife, an MD and Clinical Faculty member at Stanford University, and twin daughters in Woodside, California.
