About Ken Hawk - Founder, Juniper Ventures
Ken Hawk founded Juniper Ventures, an early stage venture firm in 2002. He is a successful serial entrepreneur with more than 20 years experience building businesses involving mobile computing, wireless communications, software, and semiconductors.
Four of the last five businesses which Mr. Hawk led either went public (IPO) or were successfully acquired. From 2002-2004, he was the CEO of NemeriX SA, a growing leader in GPS semiconductor chipsets and software. Previously, he founded iGo, an electronic device accessory firm and led it as CEO through seven consecutive years of over 100% annual sales growth. iGo completed a successful NASDAQ IPO in 1999 and was later sold to Mobility Electronics in March 2002.
Mr. Hawk's high-tech career also includes senior management positions at Microsoft, Venture Manufacturing Singapore (IPO on the SESDAQ in 1992), and Silicon Systems, Inc., the market leader in disk drive semiconductors (acquired by TDK in 1988). He recently served on the board of directors of Transactional Smartware which was successfully sold to Commercialware in 2002. He currently serves on the board of advisors of NemeriX SA and Newgistics.
Mr. Hawk began his technical career as a software developer at IBM's Personal Computer Division during the birth of the PC industry. He holds an MBA from Stanford University and a BS in electrical engineering from The University of Michigan.
